Over 100 volunteers and supporters attended the event on Saturday, April 2, 2016, as the Denton African American Scholarship Foundation awarded twelve scholarships to Denton ISD students.  The event, hosted by Board member Val Morgan and scholarship committee was held at the Patterson Appleton Center.

The committee awarded scholarships to the top students from each DISD high school in grades 9 through 12. Adinawa Adjagbodjou, the recipient of the $5,000 Horace and Euline Brock Award was the top awarded student.  She is deciding between Harvard, Princeton, Stanford and a few other schools.

This 2016 class of scholarship applicants was an outstanding student class of 28 applicants. All of them made us feel very good about the determination and focus of our fundraising efforts. The DAASF Board is excited for the opportunity to award scholarships to students and help to fulfill their dreams of getting a college education.
